Simone's Journey

Simone Gibson’s journey in journalism began at WUTV, where she served as a multimedia journalist. After graduating in 2021, she started her career as a digital producer, managing the online and social media presence for WRBL, a television station in Columbus, Georgia. 

While at WRBL, Simone took on multiple roles. In addition to her duties as a digital producer, she also worked as a multimedia journalist and photojournalist. Her versatility and dedication were further demonstrated when she served as a moderator for local elections, showcasing her ability to engage with and inform the community.

Currently, Simone is in the process of learning how to produce a newscast. Starting in August, she will step into the role of AM newscast producer for her station’s 5 and 6 AM shows, taking on new challenges and responsibilities as she continues to grow in her career.
