A natural in front of the camera and a talent behind the lens, Douglasville native Micah Noel soon began her journey to find her passion. Noel knew she enjoyed communications, whether it was conducting interviews to gather information or performing on stage in theater. Noel had a knack for the field and was eager to explore all its facets.
Noel took her curiosity and talents to the University of West Georgia, just 45 minutes from where she grew up. There, she soon became immersed in her field of study. She quickly became a part of WUTV, taking on various roles ranging from multimedia journalist to anchor, and also hosted shows. Noel completed the WUTV UTIP training program and, while taking Fundamentals of TV Production, became a student assistant at WUTV.
Noel graduated from the University of West Georgia in May 2024. She has since had the honor of participating in Senator Jon Ossoff’s Summer Fellowship. Over the span of 12 weeks, she will learn the ins and outs of a political campaign, including community organizing, research, and recruitment. When not learning about campaign operations, she is part of the communications team, where they put their lessons into practice. Noel contacts numerous journalists to push stories into the media. Thanks to her experience at WUTV, she understands that established relationships with journalists can help shape the narrative of a story, whether positive or negative.
