Danielle Jackson Woods’ journey in journalism began at the University of West Georgia, where she discovered her passion for storytelling and content creation. Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism, Woods was actively involved in the university's local TV program, formerly known as UTV 13. She took on roles as an anchor and executive producer, honing her skills and preparing for a career in journalism.
After graduating, Woods began her career at WSB-TV in Atlanta, where she developed her skills in writing and producing TV and digital media content. Her experience there, working with top journalists, fueled her ambition to become a multimedia journalist.
She started on-air at ABC affiliate WBRZ in Baton Rouge, LA, covering the “Baton Rouge 100-year Flood,” weather events, local government, and the Alton Sterling case. As VP of the Baton Rouge NABJ chapter, she supported fellow reporters and the community.
Woods then moved to FOX8 in Greensboro, NC, as a nightside reporter, covering major events like the UNC Charlotte mass shooting, 2020 protests, and the pandemic. Her next role was at NBC affiliate WSMV in Nashville, TN, where she reported on the Covenant School shooting, national political events, and major weather disasters. Her coverage of African American history at Belle Meade plantation, featured in a 2022 Black History Month special, earned her an Emmy award for Public Affairs Reporting.
Today, Danielle serves as a content producer for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, one of the nation's longest-serving pediatric healthcare nonprofits. In this role, she executes marketing strategy and content development for child advocacy initiatives and programs. Her dedication to producing content with an art of storytelling continues to shine through her award-winning career.
