A name that always rang a bell, Summerville, Georgia native Bode Brooks began his journalism journey at the young age of 16, covering local news for his hometown’s country music station, WZQZ. As he started to create a buzz around his name, Brooks knew he wanted to learn more and expand his brand.
Brooks traveled from his small town of Summerville to attend the University of West Georgia, driven by his passion for journalism. At UWG, he fully immersed himself in the field, beginning with The WOLF internet radio, where he hosted his own talk show, 'Power Hour,' previously hosted by Darryl Forges. He then moved in front of the camera, serving as an anchor and the news director for the campus news station, WUTV. Brooks graduated from the University of West Georgia in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications and a minor in Political Science.
Brooks landed his first television job right after graduating in May 2019. He was hired as the weekday morning anchor at KTVE NBC 10 in Monroe, Louisiana. Shortly after, he was promoted to weekday evening anchor. In October 2021, Brooks was hired to help relaunch a new news operation for Lexington, Kentucky’s FOX affiliate, WDKY, with a focus on covering state politics. Most recently in May 2024, WDKY launched a political debate and discussion show that he hosts and moderates each week, “Red, White, and Bluegrass.”
